Transition to Practice
In this program, newly-licensed lawyers are matched with more experienced attorneys who volunteer their time and experience to mentor lawyers in their first several years of licensure. Mentoring covers many areas, including law practice management, effective client representation, pro bono opportunities, career development, and other aspects helpful to successfully practicing law.
Every other month, participants meet for a program planned around one or more specific mentoring topics. During alternate months, mentors and mentees meet in small groups or one-on-one.
Other key elements of the program include:
Connecting with young lawyers as early in their careers as possible to ensure they are prepared for the responsible practice of law and are committed to professionalism.
Providing support for these lawyers by making available to them the tools they need to succeed.
Imparting accumulated wisdom of experienced lawyers to help guide participants to become better advocates for their clients.
Encouraging engaged participation in the communities we serve.
